Theaters and streamers have something for everyone this spring and summer. From big blockbuster releases to the return of our favorite television series, we have a lot to look forward to.

There are a few finales happening soon, including the fourth and final season of Succession, which just returned on HBO, as well as the end of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, coming back to Amazon Prime Video in April.

Jennifer Lopez and Ana de Armas will both portray badass military-trained agents this spring in The Mother and Ghosted respectively, while Halle Bailey will dive into her role as The Little Mermaid. The highly anticipated Barbie film by Greta Gerwig will premiere on July 21, the same day a new film by Christopher Nolan titled Oppenheimer hits theaters.

Succession Season 4

 

In season 4, the aging patriarch Logan Roy considers which one of his children should take his place at the top of his media empire Waystar Royco. Loyalties are called into question and strategy is now more important than ever as his kids battle it out.

New episodes of the fourth and final season of Succession stream every Sunday on HBO.

Yellowjackets Season 2

Yellowjackets follows a team of talented high school soccer players who survive a plane crash deep in the Ontario wilderness and are forced to do whatever it takes to make it out alive. 25 years later, their adult counterparts are forced to deal with the far-reaching consequences of their ordeal and trauma. The highly anticipated season 2 was green-lit in December 2021. The creators of the show, Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, told Variety in May, “We’ve been calling season 2, ‘The Winter of Their Discontent,’” referencing the John Steinbeck book and line from William Shakespeare’s Richard III.

Yellowjackets season 2 is streaming now on Showtime.

A Good Person

The film, written and directed by Zach Braff, follows Allison (portrayed by Florence Pugh), a young woman in a happy relationship with her fiancé, a blossoming career and a great circle of family and friends. Her world shatters when she survives a tragic car accident that takes the life of her would-be sister-in-law. Allison emerges from recovery with an opioid addiction, guilt and grief, before forming an unlikely bond with her would-be father-in-law (played by Morgan Freeman), who encourages her to put her life back together.

A Good Person is in theaters now.

Beef 

Revenge is a dish best served cold. An explosive road rage incident between two strangers, Danny (played by Steven Yeun) and Amy (portrayed by Ali Wong), results in a feud and threatens to unravel their lives in the dark comedy, Beef.

Beef is streaming on Netflix now.

Tiny Beautiful Things 

Based on the best-selling collection of stories from Wild author Cheryl Strayed, Tiny Beautiful Things tells the story of Clare (played by Kathryn Hahn), a struggling writer who becomes an acclaimed advice columnist as she’s trying to piece her life together, while unpacking her childhood and her complicated relationship with her daughter.

Tiny Beautiful Things is streaming on Hulu.

The Marvelous Mrs. Masiel Season 5

Marking the end of an era, Miriam “Midge” Maisel (played by Rachel Brosnahan) will take the stage, and grab the mic to crack her jokes for the fifth and final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel hits Amazon Prime Video on April 14, 2023.

Ghosted 

In the new American romantic comedy action-packed adventure film, Chris Evans play a man who travels around the world to chase the girl of his dreams (played by Ana de Armas), who, unbeknownst to him, is a badass CIA agent chasing down a group of criminals.

Ghosted hits theaters on April 21, 2023.

Love & Death 

You may remember Jessica Biel and Melanie Lynskey starred in the 2022 Hulu series based on the same true-crime case, Candy. Now, this second adaptation of the real-life story of Candy Montgomery, titled Love & Death, is hitting HBO Max. Created by David E. Kelley and directed by Lesli Linka Glatter, the limited series stars Elizabeth Olsen as the Texas churchgoing housewife who is accused of brutally murdering her closest friend Betty Gore (played by Lily Rabe) in 1980. The show will dive deep into what lead to the crime, including Candy’s affair with Betty’s husband (Jesse Plemons), the aftermath of the murder and Candy’s high-profile trial.

Love &Death hits HBO Max on April 27, 2023.

The first Bridgerton prequel for the Netflix hit follows a young queen Charlotte’s (India Amarteifio) rise to power as she marries King George (Corey Mylchreest). The couple’s love story sparks a societal shift in the “Ton.” Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh and Ruth Gemmell will reprise their roles as Queen Charlotte, Lady Danbury and Lady Violet Bridgerton, alongside a brand-new cast in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will hit Netflix on May 4, 2023.

The Mother

Jennifer Lopez is a mother on a mission in this new action-packed Netflix thriller. A military-trained assassin comes out of hiding to fight tooth and nail to protect the daughter she’s never met from ruthless criminals gunning for revenge.

The Mother hits Netflix on May 12, 2023.

The Little Mermaid

Halle Bailey makes history as the first Black actress to portray princess Ariel in Disney’s new live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. Directed by Rob Marshall, the adaptation includes new music from Lin-Manuel Miranda, teamed with Bailey’s outstanding vocals.

The Little Mermaid hits theaters May 26, 2023.

Joy Ride 

A group of Asian girlfriends bond while traveling through Asia in search of one of their birth mothers, uncovering the truth of what it means to truly know and love themselves. Emily in ParisAshley Park, Everything Everywhere All at Once’s Stephanie Hsu, Sherry Cola and Sabrina Wu star in this adventure story, filled with hysterical hoodwinks and tender moments.

Joy Ride hits theaters June 23, 2023.

No Hard Feelings 

Described as an “American coming-of-age sex comedy,” No Hard Feelings stars Jennifer Lawrence as Maddie, a young woman on the brink of losing her childhood home. When she discovers an interesting job listing in the paper, Maddie meets a couple of wealthy helicopter parents, looking for someone to “date” their son Percy before he heads off to college.

No Hard Feelings hits theaters June 23, 2023.

Oppenheimer 

Christopher Nolan’s forthcoming epic Oppenheimer tells the story of American physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer as he works with a team of scientists during the Manhattan Project, leading to the development of the atomic bomb. Cillian Murphy will star as Oppenheimer alongside a star-studded cast including Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr., Gary Oldman, Rami Malek, Casey Affleck, Kenneth Branagh and more.

Oppenheimer premieres on July 21, 2023.

Barbie 

Come on Barbie, let’s go party. Greta Gerwig’s latest directorial endeavor stars Margot Robbie as the beloved Mattel doll, Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie’s longtime boyfriend, Ken. Academy Award-winner Emerald Fennell, Kate McKinnon, Simu Liu, Hari Nef, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Alexandra Shipp and Robbie lookalike, Death on the Nile’s Emma Mackey are just some of the names who will also appear in the highly anticipated film.
