The first Monday of May is officially here, which reels in what is essentially the World Cup of fashion: the Met Gala. The theme for this year is “Gilded Glamour,” part two of last year’s “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.” We expect to see modern takes on 19th century-inspired looks worn by influential celebrities, models, and public figures as they enter the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the iconic fundraising charity event. Ahead, red carpet looks live at the Met Gala 2022.

Blake Lively

Blake Lively’s Met Gala 2022 look is inspired by all things New York, from the constellation pattern that parallels the Grand Central Station’s ceiling to the crystal pattern reminiscent of the Empire State Building. The dress was made of tulle, embroidered jewels, and red copper foil that twisted into a bow. Lively undid the bow for the gown’s epic reveal: a blue foil train inspired by the Statue of Liberty.
