Spotted on the streets of New York City, one Miss Serena van der Woodsen – we mean, Blake Lively – giving us a long-overdue dosage of spring wardrobe inspiration for this long-overdue warm weather, courtesy of her second colourful and colour-blocking look of the week.
Lively isn’t one to be papped often, but just a few days ago she was photographed attending her supermodel friend Gigi Hadid’s birthday party in downtown New York wearing a fuschia Sergio Hudson bodycon minidress and orange sky high heels.
Then, on Monday, the actress was once again out and about, once again wearing an eye-catching colourful look made up of a Sergio Hudson orange suit and a matching orange cut-out lyra top underneath.
Never one to shy away from accessorising – she famously styles herself like friend Bella Hadid – Lively wore a leather brass buckle belt, also by Sergio Hudson (clearly, her current fashion love affair) and topped off her look with a Louis Vuitton Capucines bag and a pair of nude Christian Louboutin T-bar heels.
Lively isn’t the only celebrity to endorse orange recently, either. Emily in Paris star Lily Collins wore a similar outfit last month, pairing her tangerine suit with a grey T-shirt and French girl bangs:
Three’s a trend but when it’s Rihanna you’re talking about, her endorsement alone is a trend. The singer, too, was spotted in the summery hue, wearing a bright orange shearling coat on a colder evening in the city last month.
With just under one week to go until the 2022 Met Gala, where Lively happens to be a co-chair and the theme is Gilded Glamour, perhaps we’ve had a preview at an upcoming red carpet trend. Tangerine for the win.
