Olivia Rodrigo at the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards (BFA)

After snagging her first three Grammy Awards, Olivia Rodrigo’s afterparty celebration looked a whole lot more like 2002 than 2022. While her Y2K style inspiration is nothing new, the “Driver’s License” singer enlisted non-other than the ultimate early-aughts fashion icon, Paris Hilton herself to DJ the event, and she took some of Hilton’s exceptional sartorial inspiration for her celebratory look.

Wearing a custom Blumarine plunging ruffled cerulean gown styled by “wardrobe scientists” Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo, Rodrigo’s party dress was clearly inspired by (one of) Hilton’s famous 21st birthday dresses she wore at her party in 2002. Designed by creative director Nicola Brognano, Rodrigo’s similar deep V-neckline and asymmetrical high-low hemline seamlessly echoed Hilton’s birthday dress with an added a butterfly motif at the gown’s center.

Rodrigo shared a carousel of images on Instagram, with one of herself partying in the DJ booth with Hilton, and another of “baby’s first Grammy” projected on the wall. She captioned the post, “hop out at the afterpartyyyyyy ily @parishilton.”

Hilton posted a similar set of photos, dancing with the jubilant Grammy-winner and her friend Iris Apatow, captioning the pics, “Keepin’ it #Iconic 💯🎶👸🏼👸🏻🎶 So much fun DJing and dancing with you, sis! 🥰 @OliviaRodrigo #IconsOnly 💫✨👑👑✨💫.”

Taking home the Grammy Awards for best new artist, best pop vocal album for Sour, and pop solo performance for her smash hit “Driver’s License,” Rodrigo first wore a black corseted Vivienne Westwood gown on the red carpet. She switched into a Givenchy mini dress to perform, and then her nostalgic Blumarine to close out the big night.

She’s paid homage to fellow-Y2K icons like Britney Spears in the past, when Rodrigo sported the very same Roberto Cavalli dress worn by Spears at the 2003 AMAs in her “Brutal” music video.

Just days after her big Grammys night, Rodrigo kicked off her international Sour tour on Tuesday in Portland Oregon and is set to travel across North America and Europe, with the tour concluding in London on July 7.
