Qualifications to perform at the
Super Bowl‘s coveted Halftime Show have basically been — be an
all around musical legend. The theatrical performance is one of the
“go big or go home” variety, with extensive backdrops, meticulous
choreography, and props to blow your mind. With stages lit on fire,
and our favorite stars shooting through the air, one’s costume
choice has to meet the grand occasion.
While
Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl ensemble may have gone down in
history for otherreasons, the leather costume
was a show-stopper nonetheless. From James Brown and Prince’s bold
suiting, to Beyoncé‘s
utilitarian unitard, Jennifer
Lopez’s crystal-encrusted cutout bodysuit, and now, Rihanna’s
pregnancy reveal in custom
Loewe and Alaïa, the Super Bowl Halftime Show has seen some of
the most mind-blowing looks in entertainment history.
