Selena Gomez officially made her Saturday Night Live hosting debut over the weekend, delivering on both laughs and stylish outfit moments. Styled by Kate Young and Sean Nguyen, Gomez wore a mix — from various versions of classic LBDs to sequin-clad get-ups.
The Rare Beauty founder’s opening monologue was filled with Miley Cyrus impressions, Barney references (the show that gave Gomez her start), and jokes about her two Only Murders in the Building costars, SNL legends Martin Short and Steve Martin (who made a surprise cameo).
For her big moment, she wore a long-sleeve black Mach & Mach minidress embellished with crystal bows, paired with classic black pumps and an effortlessly tousled lob.
“One reason I’m really excited to host SNL is because I’m single and I’ve heard that SNL is a great place to find romance,” Gomez joked. “Emma Stone met her husband here, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost…and Pete and Machine Gun Kelly. Since I don’t really want to try the dating apps, I just want to put it out in the universe that I’m manifesting love.”
She opted for two Retrofête ensembles during her hosting duties, suiting up in the brand’s rhinestone-encrusted Bowery Blazer and matching Lenox pants for her SNL promotional shots.
And repped the brand once again, wearing the peachy, sequin and feathery Anastasia dress from the New York-based label’s Pre-Fall 2022 collection to introduce Post Malone’s performance as musical guest.
Once the curtains closed in 30 Rock, she stepped out for the afterparty in another LBD, this time from Gauge81, featuring an asymmetrical sky-high slit, with a pair of Paris Texas’ crystal-embellished clear mules.
Revealing a peek at Gomez’s rosary tattoo on her upper leg, the “Same Old Love” singer waved to fans as she entered L’Avenue at Saks in New York City early Sunday morning.
