Selena Gomez knows there’s no pleasing everyone. Growing up in the spotlight, the Rare Beauty mogul has had to deal with more than her fair share of criticism and body shamers but has now imparted some sage wisdom with the best way to deal — self-love.

On Sunday, the Only Murders in the Building actress opened up via TikTok’s new Stories feature, getting candid about her body and her Jack in the Box food order. “So, I be trying to stay skinny,” she began. “But I went to Jack in the Box, and I got four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings, and a spicy chicken sandwich.”

“But honestly, I don’t care about my weight because people b***h about it anyway,” she told her TikTok followers. Gomez continued in a mocking voice, reading comments she’s gotten from the public or the media surrounding her weight before confidently claiming her space with a loving proclamation. “‘You’re too small;’ ‘You’re too big;’ ‘That doesn’t fit,’” she says. “B***h, I am perfect the way I am.”

The video was reposted by a fan account for longevity.

With a TikTok account that has amassed a whopping 38.2 million followers, Gomez’s profile is filled with levity and humor, with cute voiceovers, videos with friends like Cara Delevingne and clips of Gomez dancing around her house by herself. Fans can also expect makeup tutorials, haircut reveals, and funny clips with her OMITB costars, comedians Martin Short and Steve Martin.

Having always been candid about mental health, and the impact of her lupus diagnosis, Gomez’s weight has fluctuated while living in the public eye. Consistently commenting on the negative consequences of social media on mental health, the star has famously taken long breaks from the internet.

Gomez went on to sign off with a tongue-in-cheek remark saying, “Moral of the story? Bye.”
