May 24, 2021: All eyes are on Anya Taylor-Joy’s fashion as of late—rightfully so, being that her stylist is the renowned Law Roach, whose clients also include Zendaya and Ariana Grande, among others. In case you missed it (or maybe you’re still relishing the epicness?) The Queen’s Gambit actress hosted Saturday Night Live over the weekend, serving up some seriously amazing fashion and beauty moments we can’t help but detail in-depth.
Loyal fans were ecstatic about the news of her hosting, especially knowing that stars routinely use the SNL platform to show off some of their most daring and stunning looks (like Adele’s breathtaking style and glam last October). For her first look of the evening, she stunned in a one-shoulder feathered Peter Do gown, teamed with $57,700 worth of Tiffany & Co. diamonds and Giuseppe Zanotti heels.
For her second look, the 25-year-old actress channeled 60’s cultural icon and emblem of mod style, Twiggy. The leading actress, who looks like she walked right off a Richard Avedon set, wore a vintage navy blue Courrèges dress and a matching face mask. Roach provided the original Courrèges dress straight from his vintage archive, rounding it out with a statement gold buckle belt, and polished gold breasted buttons were paired with thigh-high white boots and large disc earrings.
To channel the British model, celebrity hairstylist Gregory Russell swept Taylor-Joy’s hair up into 60s bouffant, and makeup artist Georgie Eisdell gave her big, bold lashes using Dior products. The Emma actress continued the dollish romantic and feminine look affair in a Carolina Herrera soft pink heart-spattered mini dress and Christian Louboutin hot-pink heels. The star has genuinely set a fashion precedent for herself, stylist, and future SNL host, with this being the show’s first full audience since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Hopefully, she locks in another hosting gig ASAP.
