Ever since images of Lily James looking identical to bombshell Pamela Anderson for her upcoming role were first shared, anticipation for Hulu’s new limited series, Pam & Tommy has been at an all-time high. The upcoming eight-episode show will be focused around the Baywatch actress and her Mötley Crüe drummer husband Tommy Lee’s whirlwind relationship, who famously married in 1995 after knowing each other for only 96 hours. It will also heavily focus on the true scandal that rocked the ‘90s and became one of the first internet-breaking moments: their leaked sex tape.
The teaser features a series of looks at Lily James who’s basically unrecognizable as Anderson and Sebastian Stan’s Lee, showing the couple in the intense throws of passion and love, before realising their tape has been stolen from the safe in their house.
It also introduces Seth Rogen as Rand Gauthier, the man who broke into the couple’s home, stole and distributed the sex tape, alongside his accomplice Nick Offerman. “It’s so… private,” Offerman’s Uncle Miltie is heard saying in voiceover while watching the home video. “It’s like we’re seeing something we’re not supposed to be seeing. Which is kind of what makes it so hot.”
Anderson is then seen in her iconic red Baywatch bathing suit, walking into a trailer where everyone is staring, until she takes the VHS tape and looks at it in shock.” Every second that passes, this tape could be spreading,” she tells Lee, to which he replies: “Baby, we’ll get it back.”
Later, Lee is heard saying, “Not a big deal to me? I’m on that tape, same as you,” Lee says in the trailer, discussing the urgency of retrieving the tape with his wife. “No, not like me you’re not,” Anderson replies.
Neither Anderson nor Lee is involved in the series, which is directed by I, Tonya‘s Craig Gillespie and will will be released on Hulu on Feb. 2, 2022. Watch the full teaser below.
