After teaching us all how to write the perfect love letter — if you haven’t signed up to Pamela Anderson’s new e-newsletter, you must! — the 55-year-old actress and activist had us ooh-ing and ahh-ing all over again when she attended Versace’s Fall/Winter 2023 show in West Hollywood.
In a shiny, black fringed coat and mini combo, and with her hair pinned in her iconic ‘90s messy updo, the Pamela, A Love Story star was all smiles as she posed on the cream carpet at the Pacific Design Center.
Not too far away was Lily James, the 33-year-old British actress who took on the red swimsuit in Craig Gillespie’s dark comedy Pam & Tommy. The show was a controversial chronicle of the marriage between Anderson and her rockstar husband Tommy Lee, one which focused in on the infamous sex scandal of 1995.
“I remember seeing an advertisement for Pam & Tommy thing Hulu and I thought, ‘What the hell is this?’” Anderson told the Howard Stern Show in January 2023. “No one called me, nobody asked me. I’m still alive!”
“I felt kind of run-over by that one,” she continued. “I don’t think they portrayed Tommy or I positively. I’ve heard it was a very shallow representation of us.”
Prior to the documentary releasing on Netflix on Jan. 31, Anderson gave an interview to the The Guardian. While she strongly criticized the film, she admits she can’t fault James who portrayed her convincingly in the Hulu series.
“It’s not her fault, it’s a job,” Anderson said. “But whoever created it — well, it just feels like something else stolen.”
