“It’s not her fault, it’s a job,” Anderson recently told the publication. “But whoever created it—well, it just feels like something else stolen.”

The 55-year-old added that she found it a “joke” that the Mamma Mia star had been nominated for an Emmy. James was nominated in 2022 for outstanding lead actress in a limited or anthology series or movie. She missed out on the trophy with Amanda Seyfried honored for her own incredible transformation in The Dropout.

Directed by Ryan White and co-produced by Anderson’s son with whom she shares with ex Tommy Lee, Brandon Lee, the forthcoming documentary has been several years in the making. According to a statement via Netflix, it “will feature the pop culture icon setting the record straight as she looks back on her professional path and her personal journey.”
