Timothée Chalamet is officially the newest face of Chanel. The Parisian fashion house announced on Monday that the Academy Award-nominated actor will serve as the ambassador of its new men’s fragrance, Bleu de Chanel.

It marks Chalamet’s first fashion or beauty ambassadorship and we couldn’t think of a better fit for the 27-year-old actor, with his fashion-forward persona, the New York native also has French roots.

Chanel describes the scent as, “A fragrance for the man who is deeply himself.” In its announcement, the brand wrote, “Timothée Chalamet embodies the man who is deeply himself. Willing to dive into the unknown in pursuit of a vision that takes him to new heights. BLEU DE CHANEL is the essence of that vision, the color that knows no bounds.”

The official full campaign, captured by famed photographer Mario Sorrenti, will drop in June. Chalamet first teased the collaboration on Instagram, posting the brand’s iconic interlocking C logo with the caption, “CC X TC OTW.”

Then, the Bones and All star proceeded to post images by Sorrenti, including dramatic portrait shots with a navy blue finish, photos of Chalamet staring into the camera wearing a denim jacket and black-and-white photos against a white background wearing a dark gray tee and a plain white tank top.

A coordinating short film directed by the legendary Martin Scorsese is set to come out in the fall. The director and the Chalamet were spotted filming the fragrance commercial in New York City in April, and paparazzi shots swiftly flooded the internet. Not Scorsese’s first Bleu de Chanel fragrance spot, he also directed Gaspard Ulliel’s debut campaign in 2010 for the scent. As Chanel’s first male ambassador, Ulliel was the face of Bleu de Chanel for 12 years until his unexpected death in 2022.

Chalamet was first introduced to the Goodfellas director through Robbie Robertson, the guitarist who famously toured with Bob Dylan.

On top of a buzzy rumored romance with Kylie Jenner, the impending release of the blockbuster sequel Dune: Part Two hitting theaters on November 3 and his role as Willy Wonka in the forthcoming film Wonka, Chalamet is currently in the pre-production process the a Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, where he will portray the folk music legend.

As only one out of a handful of men chosen to represent the heritage brand, Chalamet joins the likes of Pharrell Williams, and Alton Mason in his new role. Chalamet’s ex-girlfriend Lily-Rose Depp has maintained a close relationship with the house as well as fellow Hollywood stars Kristen Stewart, Margaret Qualley and Margot Robbie.
