Sydney Sweeney put a seductive spin on her signature red carpet style last night. The actress attended the premiere of her new film, Reality, at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on Tuesday evening, in a barely-there sheer black dress.

Sweeney opted for a slinky strapless black Schiaparelli dress from the Spring/Summer 2023 Inferno Couture collection, featuring strategically-positioned tiers of black ruffled layers, revealing her toned midriff. The Euphoria actress kept the focus on her dress, and accessories with Fred Leighton drop earrings and rings.

The Anyone but You star wore her sandy blonde tresses in relaxed beach waves with a middle-part. She brought an edge to her beauty look with black eyeliner, which she offset with rose gold shimmering eyeshadow and a soft pink lip for the occasion.

Reality, directed by Tina Satter, is based on a true story about the events that took place when former American intelligence specialist and whistleblower Reality Winner was given the longest prison sentence ever imposed for the unauthorized release of government information. She released info to the media about Russian interference in the 2016 United States election in a stealth email operation.

The events first inspired Satter’s 2019 play Is This a Room that premiered both off and on Broadway.

Sweeney told Entertainment Weekly, “There were multiple layers to it that I was fascinated and drawn in by.” She also said her character “embodies all of these different contradictions that defy what it means to be a woman, a veteran a millennial.”

Since the film premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in February, the Emmy-nominated actress has garnered critical acclaim for her performance. According to Variety, “Sweeney is revelatory.”

Sweeney stars alongside Marchánt Davis, Josh Hamilton and John Way. Reality will be available to stream on HBO Max on May 29.
