Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell cozied up together on the red carpet at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Monday evening to promote their upcoming romantic comedy Anyone But You. The pair spent the duration of their appearance beaming and smiling widely at one another, which made many social media users perk up. Could something be going on between the co-stars?
News broke this week that Powell’s girlfriend of three years, Gigi Paris, unfollowed Sweeney on Instagram, sparking speculation that her relationship with the Top Gun: Maverick actor was on the rocks.
In January, it was announced that Sony Pictures had acquired the R-rated flick starring Sweeney and Powell, and it would be directed by filmmaker Will Gluck of Friends with Benefits and Easy A. At the time, Paris showed support for the new project, commenting on Sweeney’s casting with festive emojis, “🎉🎉🎉.”
According to Page Six, Paris visited the set in Sydney, Australia to spend time with Powell in late March and returned to the US less than two weeks later.
Throughout production of the movie, the two leads have been spending their free time living it up in Australia, going to amusement parks with the rest of the cast, visiting the zoo, attending football games and doing touristy sightseeing — all while posting to social media along the way.
Many have wondered if their palpable chemistry is merely a marketing ploy to garner excitement for the film. Some social media posts have seemed more intimate than others — recently, Sweeney posted a video of Powell dipping her backwards while she was decked out in a swimsuit, which is not necessarily something a girlfriend would enjoy seeing.

Let’s not forget — Sweeney is reportedly engaged to her boyfriend Jonathan Davino, which was announced in February 2022. The two have been linked since 2018, but famously keep their relationships under-wraps and out of the spotlight.
Sweeney has never publicly commented on the state of their relationship but told Cosmopolitan in her centerfold in January 2022, “I don’t date people in the spotlight. I don’t date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it’s easiest. I have a great support system.”
On Monday, the two certainly looked in sync, as they walked the carpet together and laughed it up as they posed for photos and conducted interviews. For the event, Sweeney wore an iridescent rose pink strapless bustier and matching high-waisted trousers, while Powell sported a light brown polo shirt, tapered pants and brown leather Chelsea boots.
Whether or not sparks are flying between Powell and Sweeney is still unknown. What we do know is that Anyone But You is sure to be filled with dynamic chemistry.
