Doja Cat knows how to turn heads. On Monday, designer Daniel Roseberry presented his Spring/Summer 2023 Haute Couture collection for Schiaparelli, held at Petit Palais in Paris, and amongst all the must-see looks that came down the runway, there was another can’t-miss moment from none other than Doja Cat in the front row.

The “Say So” singer covered her face, head, chest and arms in 30,000 fire-engine red Swarovski crystals, applied by hand by makeup artist Pat McGrath and her team. The Grammy-winning artist sat through precisely four hours and 58 minutes of makeup application for the over-the-top glam look. “It was an honor to collaborate with the incredibly gifted @DojaCat and @DanielRoseberry,” McGrath wrote on social media.

McGrath called the look “truly inspiring” in a video of close-up shots of the singer’s look. “The final product was a magical, mesmerising masterpiece and a tribute to Doja Cat’s hard work and dedication.”

Doja Cat’s glittering crimson complexion expertly matched her red silk faille bustier and hand-knitted knee-length skirt encrusted with lacquered wooden beads. The rapper was draped in a monochromatic cascading shawl and teamed her look with red stockings, trompe l’œil toe boots and amped up the glamor with dangling red stone earrings, styled by Brett Alan Nelson.

As creative director of the fashion house, Roseberry took inspiration from Dante Alighieri’s Inferno for the Couture assortment. McGrath played into the theme for Doja Cat’s statement-making beauty moment dubbing it “Doja’s Inferno look.”

The singer is known for making daring beauty statements at runway shows. During Spring/Summer 2023 fashion week season last October, she decorated her body in many eye-catching looks, including her gold-drenched appearance at the A.W.A.K.E Mode presentation and her blue-contoured face paint at the Mônot runway show.

Ever since she shaved both her head and eyebrows last summer, Doja Cat has been using her face as a blank canvas, sporting avant-garde beauty looks that consist of innovative face paint and unexpected drawn-on or embellished eyebrows.

As fashion weeks continue the next month, we can’t wait to see what else Doja Cat comes up with.
