Surprise! When Shay Mitchell announced earlier this week that she is expecting baby No. 2 with her partner, Matte Babel, it was quite a shock.

Later on, the Pretty Little Liars alum revealed how she kept the big secret under wraps for quite some time. In a new TikTok video, the brunette beauty looks gorgeous in a brown blazer and bra. She then unfolds the jacket and shows off her growing baby bump.

“How would they know?! 🤣,” she captioned the hilarious video, which also showed her laughing and smiling for the camera.

The actress shared a lengthy message about welcoming her new tot (she already shares daughter Atlas with Babel).

“Saying goodbye to a loved one while simultaneously experiencing the joy of welcoming another into this world is the great cycle of life,” she said, referring to her grandma, who recently passed away. “It is also my most challenging season to date. I can’t help but think this was the universe’s plan all along, knowing I would need other worldly joy to cushion the blow of losing one of the most important people in my life. Yet, this is proof that love, life and loss can profoundly exist all at the same time. Gram, I miss you every day. Little one, we are so excited to meet you. I breathe a sigh of peace knowing you two are already connected in such a cosmic way.”

Mitchell has been candid about how motherhood has changed her life, and she revealed the important advice from her own mother that she tries to stick to on a daily basis.

“Just trying not to be perfect and knowing that what you’re doing is enough and going with your instincts. That was my mom’s whole vibe,” she shared. She was like, ‘You’re always going to be hard on yourself if you’re trying to be perfect. No one’s ever perfect, but that’s what makes funny stories in the end.’ You know you give them love. That’s all that they want and need. It helped out, especially in the first year when you’re trying to do everything and do it perfectly. It’s nice to know that there’s no such thing as perfect.”
