Though Kim Kardashian’s (now defunct) saccharine MySpace profile will have you believe she’s the princess of America’s reality royalty, new reports have suggested that real-life aristocracy will be making their way onto the airwaves in an upcoming season of The Kardashians. And no, we’re not talking about Lord Disick.
If allegations from The Mirror have any credence to them, then we could see a crossover between the Kardashians and the Crown in the near future, with Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, reportedly poised to make her reality debut after some cunning string-pulling from Kris Jenner.
With Meghan and Prince Harry the reigning ‘new kids’ of Montecito, sources are claiming that Jenner is slowly biding to bring the pair south to Calabasas for a cameo appearance that will certainly exacerbate any familial tension between the Sussexes and the notoriously anti-Kardashian royal family. (If you’ll recall, Kim Kardashian’s request to attend a palace party for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee with then-boyfriend Pete Davidson was firmly declined in 2022).
“It’s no coincidence that the Kardashians all move in the same circles as Meghan’s new circle,” a source told the British tabloid. Yes, the same publication that Prince Harry sought £440,000 (or AUD$834,000) in damages from during his high profile, class-action, phone-hacking lawsuit.
“It’s just a slam dunk for the two families to team up, but Kris doesn’t want to push too aggressively, too soon,” the source continued, with the publication adding, “Kris is ‘willing’ to wait for the ‘long-term prize’”.
The publication claims that Jenner is attempting to “bring Meghan and Harry into the mainstream,”—though, as famously uttered on the Real Housewives Of New York City, they’re already there—before adding Markle may surprise fans with a rare appearance on the reality show and fashion collaborations with the family.
Jenner has reportedly committed herself to “bedding them into her family’s inner circle”, and allegedly assured the Duke and Duchess there is “no issue in principle”.
With the Sussexes mutually uncoupling from Spotify, could this perhaps be a tactical move to cast another stake in the vast media enterprise? After all, it is reported that Markle has plans for a “Hollywood reinvention”, which could involve reviving her alleged “$1 million dollar post” Instagram account. You can take the girl out of the film set, but you can’t take the actress out of the girl.
And with Markle’s on-screen experience as a star paralegal on Suits, perhaps Markle will be the best person to mediate conflict between sisters who “stole a g*damn wedding country!”. You can rest assured we’ll be watching with popcorn when the time comes!
