In Los Angeles, the ratio of A-listers compared square footage of the Hollywood Hills means that the sprawling city isn’t immune to unexpected link-ups. Take for instance the meeting between Kim Kardashian and Meghan Markle’s mum, Doria Ragland—the latest in a long list of surprising pairings.
Given that the Kardashians are oft described as American royalty, the 42-year-old is one step closer to reaching nobility after being pictured with the Duchess of Sussex’s mother. Ragland and Kardashian connected at a ‘soiree’ thrown by the community-oriented social justice program This Is About Humanity’s fifth-annual fundraising gala.
The organisation, which strives to support and reunify families separated at the border between Mexico and the United States, took over a swanky private residence for the event.
In the below picture, Ragland could be seen posing alongside Kardashian and the KarJenner matriarch, Kris Jenner, for a photo. Ragland was flanked by the reality stars in the image, with Kardashian even wrapping her hands around Ragland’s forearm and leaning in close to the camera in laughter.
Ragland, Kardashian and Jenner were among the high-profile attendees celebrating at the charity event, with Eva Longoria, Jeff Bezos and his fiancé, Lauren Sanchez, also present.
For the occasion, Kardashian looked to Pieter Mulier’s sensual Fall/Winter 2023 collection at ALAÏA for her ensemble.
The piece, which debuted at a runway show hosted inside Mulier’s brutalist Antwerp apartment, featured a slinky black maxi dress layered with a leather harness bodice that sculpted the torso.
The SKIMS founder completed the couture gown with Chanel chain jewellery and a quilted Chanel purse, Unexpectedly, the business magnate also unveiled a new beauty look: micro baby bangs.
Perhaps inspired by the beatnik beauty look sported by Audrey Hepburn—or more recently, ‘It’ girls like Taylor Russel and Alexa Demie—could this be proof Kardashian is entering her ‘mid Century’ era?
Knowing Kardashian’s former propensity for sycophancy, we wouldn’t be surprised if this interaction was merely a pit stop on her way to the upper echelon of Montecito and into the folds of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. After all, the devil works hard but Kris Jenner works harder.
