According to Kylie Jenner, it’s still leather weather. The Kylie Cosmetics mogul stepped out on Wednesday evening in West Hollywood to celebrate the Mugler x H&M collaboration launch party in a look that is giving major The Matrix vibes.
Dressed in head-to-toe black, Jenner wore pieces from the new collaborative collection from the two brands (which launched today), including a black leather trench coat with strong shoulders, sheer black second-skin gloves and black denier tights with seams down the front of the leg. The reality television star slipped into a pair of narrow, square-toed black pumps to complete the look.
Jenner styled her hair in voluminous Old Hollywood curls with a side-sweeping part and maintained a bronzed complexion with rosy cheeks, mile-long lashes and a matte mauve lip.
Inside the event, Jenner was photographed partying with her close friend Stassie Karanikalaou, who wore a strapless black corseted evening gown from the collab. Jenner came out in support as a longtime collaborator and friend to Mugler creative director Casey Cadwallader, who spearheaded the H&M collaboration after Thierry Mugler’s death in January 2022.
According to H&M’s creative advisor Ann-Sofie Johansson, the collaboration has been in the works since before Mugler’s death. The late legend had already begun drafting a few sketches for the mash-up before he died. “Sadly enough, Mr. Mugler passed away,” she explained during a panel discussion ahead of the collection’s release. “We were then determined to pursue this and make it happen.”
The Mugler x H&M capsule collection follows other high-end designer partnerships the retailer has had, including one with Karl Lagerfeld in 2004, Comme des Garçons in 2008 and Versace in 2011, among many others. This year, Mugler was at the top of H&M’s designer wish list.
Keeping in mind how quickly H&M high-fashion collaborations have sold out in the past, we’d advise you to get while the getting’s good and shop your favorite pieces now.
The Mugler x H&M collection is in stores and online today.
