There’s no stopping Pamela Anderson’s fashion renaissance. The icon embraced ‘80s excess on Wednesday evening at the Mugler x H&M launch party at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City alongside a sea of famous faces and friends of the brand.
Wear a standout ensemble from the Mugler x H&M collaboration, Anderson took her front row seat in a sheer black catsuit covered in bedazzled swirling stars, featuring a mock neckline and footed leggings.
The Love, Pamela author teamed her bodysuit with a commanding black blazer with padded, angular shoulders, reminiscent of the dramatic silhouettes from Mugler in the 1980s. Anderson slipped into a pair of red-bottom Christian Louboutin black patent leather pumps for the occasion.
The Broadway darling styled her iconic blonde hair in glossy, tousled waves, with a luminous bronzed complexion, featuring her famous uber-thin eyebrows, signature smokey eye and a pink lip.
Anderson sat front row alongside Lourdes Leon, The Idol’s Moses Sumney, Charli XCX and Chloë Sevigny. The stylish bunch posed alongside Mugler creative director Casey Cadwallader and H&M creative advisor Ann-Sofie Johansson.
The collaboration, including womenswear, menswear and accessories, was designed by Cadwallader and Johansson and will launch online and in select stores beginning May 11.
“I really wanted to do tailoring because it’s the most iconic thing at the house – black, sculpted shoulders, nipped in waists,” Cadwallader said at a panel discussion on Wednesday. “Also, to be able to push things like crystals – it was so impressive the way that H&M was able to do that.”
“Everybody loves a bit of bling,” added Johansson. Cadwallader continued, “We did something with H&M that we can’t do at Mugler, to pave the Lycra and the crystals – they’re super close together. The crystals are big, it’s really decadent, really beautiful, and for such a value at the end of the day.”
In celebration of the collab and an ode to the fashion house’s close ties with the music industry, Mugler and H&M released a music video starring a brigade of rising stars from Amaarae and Shygirl to Eartheater and Arca, who recorded their own take on Stardust’s 1998 dance hit song, “Music Sounds Better With You.”
Shygirl, Eartheater and Amaarae performed live at the fashionable fête while models encircled the crowd.
The Mugler x H&M collaboration will drop online and in select stores on May 11. Mark your calendars — it’s sure to sell out quickly.
