Kylie Jenner has a great track record of wearing the best vintage Thierry Mugler fashion finds. On Tuesday evening, the Kylie Cosmetics mogul stepped out at the Brooklyn Museum on the arm of Mugler’s current creative director Casey Cadwallader to celebrate opening night of the new Thierry Mugler: Couturissime exhibition.

For the occasion, Jenner adorned a corseted black mermaid gown from Mugler’s Fall/Winter 1995 Couture collection, featuring the couturier’s signature winged bust and a plumaged fishtail hem. As seen on the 1990’s runway, The Kardashians star teamed her vintage gown with black feathered opera gloves and an eye-catching headpiece.

Jenner’s dramatic and glittering accessory was from Mugler’s Fall/Winter 1999 Couture collection and featured strands of diamonds that framed her head and arched into a crown with pear-shaped dangling gemstones. The reality star posted a close-up image of the dazzling piece to Instagram, captioning the carousel, “mugler king.”

Jenner teamed the lavish piece with large, princess-cut diamond stud earrings, and styled her hair in an updo to keep the focus on the jeweled accessories.

Last week, Jenner borrowed a vintage gown from the brand’s Fall/Winter 1999 collection to attend the 2022 CFDA Awards. The asymmetrical gown with a semi-sheer pleated bodice, velvet skirt and thigh-high slit is actually included in the Brooklyn exhibition.

At the opening party, Jenner was joined by the likes of Lourdes Leon, Laverne Cox, Tinashe, Julia Fox, Susanne Bartsch, Amanda Lepore, and more to celebrate the retrospective.

Inside, Jenner swapped into out another vintage Mugler look, this time, from the Spring/Summer 1997 Couture collection. Jenner sported a sheer black spider-webbed catsuit under an ivory silk cape with black embellishments.

Jenner posted a carousel on Instagram, featuring pieces on mannequins within the showcase, including that of her CDFA ensemble. “Wowow what a beautiful night celebrating the opening of the Thierry Mugler Archive Exhibition at the Brooklyn museum,” Jenner wrote. “Such an honor to wear a piece of fashion history. thank you to the mugler team 🖤 and make sure to stop by to see the exhibition while it’s there, celebrating the life and art of the forever iconic Thierry Mugler.”
