Is Kourtney Kardashian‘s punk phase finding a new recruit in Kendall Jenner?

The model has been showing off a new manicure that recalls a popular skate-inspired print, which feels firmly in the same retro-punk aesthetic that her sister has been channeling in recent months.

Posting an image of her new nails to her Instagram Story, Jenner revealed a fresh manicure from Los Angeles nail outfit Modern Pamper Salon – a striking black and white design that resembles a checkerboard print.

The graphic nail art was applied to the very tip of Jenner’s nails, which were shaped to be square, with a nude hue acting as the base color of the nails. The end result was a classic French manicure, with a nostalgic Noughties twist.

Not much is known about the wildly popular Modern Pamper Salon, except that it seems to be frequented by a lot of famous faces. Beyond Jenner and sister Kylie, the salon also appears to have played host to the likes of TikTok’s  Charli and Dixie D’Amelio.

Jenner’s BFF Bella Hadid even posted a fresh set of nails tagging Modern Pamper on the same day as Jenner seemingly visited the salon.

While Hadid holds the crown as our resident queen of nostalgic beauty trends, this time she opted for a more neutral nail color. The model’s lengthy nails bore a square shape that had been softly rounded at the edges, with an almost transparent pink hue applied as one solid color to Hadid’s digits.

Like Hadid, Jenner is known to dabble in Noughties trends, but this checkerboard manicure is the first time we’ve seen the star embrace the pop-punk aesthetic that was notorious throughout the early 2000s period.

We’ll be copying this modern take on the classic French mani ASAP (but we’re willing to bet Kardashian might get there first).
