Kate Middleton stood out from the crowd in fire engine red. The Prince and Princess of Wales attended the 2023 Royal Ascot on Friday in Ascot, England to enjoy one of Britain’s most well-known horse races.

Middleton opted for a bright red Alexander McQueen midi V-neck dress with long bishop sleeves and a wrap bodice with belted waist. The royal teamed her scarlet dress with monochromatic accessories, including matching Jennifer Chamandi pumps, a Philip Treacy floral embellished wide-brimmed hat and a crimson Hermès clutch.

She added some extra pizazz to her ensemble with a pair of dangling gold Esmee earrings with black beading from Sézane. Middleton styled her hair in an elegant updo and sported a soft smokey eye and a pink lip.

With a strict dress code that insists on formal daywear for women, as well as hats, the British royal family have been known to make head-turning style statements at the event over the years.

Prince William also attended in a dapper black suit with a cornflower blue vest, a white-collared baby blue shirt with a purple patterned tie, a white floral lapel pin, charcoal gray pinstripe trousers, black leather dress shoes and a black top hat. The couple was joined by Prince Williams cousin, Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Known for choosing Alexander McQueen designs time and time again, Middleton most recently picked a soft pink pantsuit from the British fashion house to visit the Foundling Museum in London as apart of her new initiative, Shaping Us. She also wore McQueen to King Charles III’s coronation in May and, of course, called upon the brand to design her wedding dress for her 2011 nuptials to  Prince William.
