Kate Middleton took a break from wearing glittering gowns and dazzling tiaras and tapped into her sportier side this week. On Wednesday, the royal participated in rugby drills during her visit to Maidenhead Rugby Club and chose a super pared-down look.

Ordinarily, the Princess of Wales “dresses down” in immaculately tailored Alexander McQueen pantsuits when the occasion calls for a business casual ensemble — but this time, Middleton owned her role as the Patron of the English Rugby Football Union wearing an aqua blue England rugby jersey with the organization’s red rose motif printed over her heart. Middleton teamed her top with navy blue tapered joggers and plain white sneakers.

The royal pulled her brunette tresses back in to a high ponytail while running drills and maintained a natural beauty look with blushed cheeks, a smokey eye with long lashes and a pink lip for a day out on the field.

Keeping her accessories to a minimum, Middleton adorned tiny, dainty baubles for the active occasion, wearing just a pair of small gold hoop earrings and her historic sapphire engagement ring.

After the morning training with local and professional Rugby players, Middleton sat down with the teammates to chat about their childhoods to emphasize the importance of the early childhood development, as a part of her new initiative, Shaping Us. According to People, the royal has previously focused on the insight of mothers since the campaign’s inception in January, but now she wants to hear from men.
