However, it’s her most recent outing that has piqued the interest of sartorialist netizens. Though Lipa is never one to steer away from bold style moves, the singer has made like the magician she named her dance single after and seemingly made her dress disappear.
As you can see in pictures, Lipa has opted for a flapper-style sheer maxi dress, despite the almost negative temperatures in Manhattan.
The scantily clad chevron print dress featured intricate beadwork that bounced as Lipa trotted through a swarm of paparazzi and onwards to Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig for a special screening of Barbie.
Continuing the lock and key motif of her new sonic era, Lipa made sure to show off the piece’s keyhole fastening detail, too.
Of course, as any New Yorker can attest to, going out after dark in the dead of winter typically requires either a floor-length duster or proverbial “alcohol blanket” to shield you from the elements.
As Lipa proved in Copenhagen by wearing a puffed Prada miniskirt that rivalled a duvet, walking around in a comforter level of layers is by no means a challenge. So, to counter the negligible dress, Lipa donned an ankle-length black fur coat from Entire Studios.
If our calculations are correct, it appears that the pop-star-approved method for winter formalwear is to balance nearly naked base layers with statement-making outwear.
