Singer and now also actress Dua Lipa arrived at the world premiere of Barbie in Los Angeles on July 9. Having spent the week lazing about the beaches of Greece (and simultaneously modelling Christopher Esber’s latest collection), the 27-year-old was glowing as she walked the pale pink carpet in a glistening, chainmail floor-length gown by Bottega Veneta.
The transparent number was an obvious nod to Lipa’s role as “Mermaid Barbie” in the Greta Gerwig-directed USD $100 million comedy. With her hair kept long and parted down the centre, and her brows big and fluffy, Lipa accessorised with silver point heels, a pale pink French manicure with white tips, and Tiffany & Co.’s Victoria Graduated Line Necklace, HardWear Link Earrings, and a T1 and Knot Ring.
The singer also released mega track “Dance The Night Away” in June, a song penned for the Barbie movie soundtrack, and one that is running over and over in our heads.
Just one day ago, Lipa posted an image of herself in peak Barbiecore: a crushed pink mini with a keyhole cutout, pink weaved thigh-high boots and a metallic silver handbag, all courtesy of Bottega Veneta.
“Come on Barbie, let’s go party,” she captioned the Instagram post.
Lipa joined Australian actress Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Issa Rae, and director Greta Gerwig on the carpet at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles for the premiere.
Barbie will open in Australian cinemas on July 20.
