Cynthia Nixon Christopher John Rogers

Miranda Hobbs (played by Cynthia Nixon) was never considered the most fashion-forward character in Sex and the City, but for Nixon, her real life wardrobe has been serving serious style moments for the past few months. We couldn’t help but notice our favorite actress (who plays the feminist-lawyer-turned-student in …And Just Like That) loves to incorporate color and bold patterns into her wardrobe, whether making red carpet appearances or just taking a walk around town. In fact, Nixon has not-so-secretly been carrying on a love affair with one designer in particular, Christopher John Rogers (sorry, Che and Steve).

Okay, so it’s not quite in the same sense as her on-screen character’s love affairs, but still, Nixon is head over heels for the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year — or shall we say, for his eye-catching designs. Back when we covered Christopher John Rogers Collection 008, we were instantly in awe with each silhouette presented — and it seems Nixon was too. The 55-year-old actress has worn not one, not two, but three looks by the ultimate new generation designer in the past two months alone.

Her most recent look comes during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Nixon, a guest on last night’s segment, looked oh-so vibrant in Look 14 from Collection 008. The actress twirled on the carpet showing off the rainbow pleated effect of the skirt while posing with Broadway legend Patti LuPone. She kept the rest of her look simple, letting the statement dress shine.

Nixon first introduced her love for the label back in December when she wore look 36 from Collection 008 to the HBO Max’s premiere of … And Just Like That at the Museum of Modern Art. She channeled Miranda’s Hobbs button-up style but with the Nixon treatment in a head-to-toe bright tangerine ensemble. A month later, Nixon wore Look 8 from Collection 008 for a cover shoot for S Moda, where she may have had some input on the wardrobe. The printed Italian crepe marocaine frock boasted both color and print, which has become a quintessential style element for the actress.

Third time’s a charm, and it’s evident that Nixon is feeling the allure we all do from CJR’s detailed, bold styles. We can’t wait to see what look she pulls next from the collection.
