“Cinematic drama for the modern high-femme”

Christopher John Rogers

Fresh off last weekend’s designer dress collective with Target, Christopher John Rogers just debuted his resort collection — and we have to say, we’re really into it.  On Friday, May 21, the house that CJR built unveiled its ‘Collection 008’ packed full of color-blocking, beautiful jacquard suits, Italian twill dresses, silk faille wide-leg trousers, and stunning slip dresses evoking the spirit of Studio 54. Rogers has perfected this aesthetic, honing in on historic fashion silhouettes and codes but at the same time, keeping his pieces so incredibly fresh. It’s a part of what makes Rogers and his work so special. A CJR piece just evokes joy, sheer joy. This collection is effervescent, ethereal, refreshing, colorful, and honestly, everything fashion needs right now.

With his hardworking team of five, Christopher John Rogers does what makes sense for him and the brand, moving at his own pace. Rogers has proven that there’s no one size fit all format for the CJR woman and continues to illustrate this with his accessible Target design collaboration, dressing the Vice President of the United States, Hollywood icons, and fashion “It” girls all over the world. Rogers is a costumer of discerning taste who loves color and appreciates quality design and tailoring.

For this collection, Rogers explored his signature house codes while “rethinking the way they’re put together and presented. The collection also includes a collaboration with Christian Louboutin: gorgeous heels crafted exclusively for the collection (we have our eyes on a sickening pair of jacquard booties with optical illusion-esque embroidered dots). Also to coincide with the collection, Rogers released a soundtrack — which we listened to while drafting this — by Skype Williams, to accompany the looks.

So press play and join us in reveling in some of these killer looks:
