As we age, collagen diminishes, which leads to signs of ageing, wrinkles and increasing laxity,” explains Dr. Sophie Shotter, Aesthetician at BioLite. “For in-clinic treatments, I would advise trying treatments such as Sofwave and Polynucleotides, which help collagen production. “Basic wound care for minor cuts and scrapes should include washing with soap and water followed by an ointment like plain petroleum jelly (no topical antibiotics!) and then a simple bandage,” says Dr. Angelo Landriscina, aka DermAngelo.

“Wear high-factor sunscreen (SPF30+) every day even when inside,” urges Dr. Phillips. “Although the high melanin content in Middle Eastern skin provides some built-in protection, long-term exposure to UV rays from the sun can cause damage to the skin, accelerating the loss of collagen and resulting in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and sunspots. The majority of signs of skin ageing are caused by exposure to UVA, which passes through clouds and windows. Therefore, you should also wear sunscreen indoors, particularly if your home has lots of windows.”

“Pay attention to how your skin responds to different products and adjust your routine accordingly. If you notice any irritation or sensitivity, consult a dermatologist for guidance,” advises Dr. Lica.
