Any meaningful conversation about the future of fashion and retail in 2020 needs to have sustainability at its core. This is something that Net-a-Porter knows only too well, leading to the launch of Net Sustain, a curation of brands who share the ethos of making shoppping more sustainable.

Demystifying what it actually means to be sustainable, Net Sustain defines its offering into pieces and products that: demonstrate an investment in the local economy and environment by being Locally Made; celebrate artisanal skills and techniques through Craft & Community; use Considered Materials and ingredients cultivated in a way that respects the welfare of people, animals and the environment; adopt Considered Processes that meet an internationally recognised sustainability standard to those that are made using environmentally conscious processes or technologies; or are made using Considered Ingredients grown and produced with a significantly reduced amount of water, waste, carbon and pollution; consider circularity by Reducing Waste; are cruelty-free and consider Animal Welfare; or that are Vegan.

This month, 45 additional fashion brands will be added to Net Sustain’s offering and for the first time 27 beauty brands will join the party for planet Earth. These include: Aesop, Irene Forte, Senteurs d’Orient, Pai Skincare and Form Nutrition.

In the spirit of Net Sustain, even the flowers used in the campaign would’ve gone to waste, giving the blooms a second chance. Bravo Net-a-Porter!
