Chris Appleton is the mane man behind some of Hollywood’s most iconic hair (namely Kim Kardashian, Dua Lipa and Jennifer Lopez, amongst many, many others) so when he shares his hard-won expertise, we’re all ears – particularly when it pertains to one of the most coveted hairstyles of the moment, the bombshell blow-out.
From TikTok to the runways and front row at fashion week, big bouncy waves are back and more bodacious than ever. If you haven’t tried the bombshell style before, allow us to get you better acquainted.
The look, which works most hair types and lengths, is characterised by a rounded 90s-style shape, lots of layers curving about the face and major volume for maximum oomph. Perhaps the most notable iteration is Pamela Anderson’s iconic bouncy blow dry from her Baywatch era, which has since become something of a signature style for Kardashian in recent months.
Spending ample time on the road with Kardashian – and of course, the queen of bombshell hair, JLo – has no doubt made Appleton a practiced hand at nailing the style. So without further ado, here’s Appleton’s guide to bombshell hair.

Step 2: Blow dry the hair
