Gigi Hadid is reportedly not happy with Suki Waterhouse after opening up about a painful breakup with ex Bradley Cooper in an interview.
With Hadid, 29, and Cooper, 49, currently going strong, the supermodel is allegedly ‘furious’ with the British singer dredging up the former couple’s time together in a cover story with British Vogue, where she described the split as “dark and difficult.”
As she touched on how her relationships with “men older and more famous than her” inspired some of her heartbreak ballads, the new mother admitted she was once convinced that she would never be ok again.
“I really will say that I’m pretty strong at this point,” she told the outlet. “But when something very public happens to you, and the story behind it is dark and difficult, and you’re actually not doing well, and you can’t explain yourself to the world, that’s very isolating and disorientating.”
She also added that her relationships in her twenties were “only ever a fetishisation” from her perspective and that her experiences post-turning 30 have been very different.
“I think when you only get loved in that way, you only get punished,” said the 32-year-old. “When you get into your 30s, you’re almost instantly afforded a little bit more respect. It’s kind of delightful and shocking at the same time.”
Though Waterhouse did not speak ill of Cooper, whom she dated between 2013-2015, the comments have reportedly spurred Hadid to go on the defence.
“They’ve fallen out, and there’s no indication that things will ever be the same for them,” a source claimed to Life & Style. “Gigi is totally team Bradley and taking this up as her own cause… She isn’t about to let this go.”
A separate source assured the magazine that Waterhouse did nothing wrong.
“Suki spoke her truth,” they said. “If Gigi doesn’t like it, that’s her problem.”
It’s not known when exactly the A Star Is Born actor and the Guest In Residence founder struck up their romance, but they were first pictured on an apparent date night in October 2023.
Multiple sources have insisted that the pair met through friends and bonded over raising young girls while being in the public eye. Hadid co-parents Khai, 3, with Zayn Malik, while Cooper shares 6-year-old Lea de Seine with Irina Shayk, making for one very interesting family tree.
Meanwhile, Waterhouse has been with fellow Brit Robert Pattinson since 2018. She and the Good Time actor, 38, welcomed their first child together in March 2024.
