One of the biggest signifiers that a couple is getting serious is when they begin to dress like each other. And it seems Bradley Cooper has been taking some style notes from his new leading lady, Gigi Hadid.
Stepping out in New York City, Cooper wore some, er, interesting American flag-printed Cano pants with Nike sneakers. As fans were quick to point out, the look radiated Hadid energy. In fact, that’s maybe because the striped knit he was wearing is actually from the model’s clothing line, Guest In Residence. How sweet.
But further emulating Hadid’s style, the Maestro star wore a green varsity jacket from the J. Lindberg x Golden Bear collaboration, a jacket that eerily resembled one Hadid wore just a few days prior.
On November 5, the 28-year-old was photographed wearing the Carhartt WIP x Awake NY Teddy Jacket over a white T-shirt and knit grey shirt from her brand. Similarly to Cooper, she styled the outfit with a beanie and tortoise-shell eyewear.
But this isn’t the only sartorial nod to Hadid from Cooper. Besides wearing a knit button-up cardigan from her label and the Guest In Residence’s X Adidas Sambas sneaker collab, the 48-year-old has been stepping up his style game in ways that feel very Hadid-coded.
Take his recent outing, where he was pictured swapping out his usual streetwear for a sleek black coat.
We can’t help but notice that it looks nearly identical to the one his girlfriend wore just a few months ago. And while we get that it’s a staple wardrobe item that most own, Cooper is rarely spotted in such attire, making it rather suspect.
Lastly, the actor switched up his minimalist style by opting for a checkerboard print sweater for the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
And it’s worth noting that checkerboard knits is a go-to of Hadid, too.
While it’s uncertain exactly when the pair struck up their romance, Hadid and Cooper were first photographed getting dinner together at Via Carota in NYC on October 5. But their comfortable demeanour suggested they had been seeing each other for a while.
Maybe Cooper is at the stage where he’s unconsciously dressing like Hadid, or maybe it’s just a coincidence—save for all the blatant (albeit, sweet) support of her label, but we’re always fans of anyone wanting to have more fun with fashion. Here’s hoping for Cooper X GIR collab in the near future…
