If you’ve been following Selena Gomez on TikTok, you’ll know she’s partial to sharing a beauty tip or two. From her budget skincare routine to her makeup looks and newest hair transformation, the star has well and truly taken to the platform in a major way — and we’re here for it.

The latest tidbit we’ve gleaned from Gomez’s account is a makeup trick that’s been around for a while, but is now gaining rapid momentum on social media. In a new video outlining every step of Gomez’s natural “no makeup” routine, the star demonstrated a clever mascara hack that subsequently went viral.

After applying her base (that’d be the Rare Beauty tinted moisturizer, naturally) Gomez revealed her mascara trick for creating full, fluttery lashes — she uses the tips of tweezers coated in mascara to pinch her lower lashes together for a defined look.

The technique creates an eye-opening, doll-like effect for the eyes, and has since generated millions of views on social media as creators attempt Gomez’s now-famous mascara hack. It was a popular makeup trick in the 1960s, where the likes of supermodel Twiggy led the dramatic eye makeup trend.

When she’s not creating viral beauty moments with Rare Beauty or filming for her series Selena + Chef, Gomez revealed that she has been hard at work on her new upcoming album. “I just finished season four of my cooking show and I am in L.A. working on my album now,” she said in the Crew Call podcast.

Previously the star had been dropping hints that she would ditch her music career altogether, telling Vogue, “I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that I’m so thankful, for that I keep going, but I think the next time I do an album it’ll be different. I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire music.”

We’re glad she doesn’t seem to be done yet, as we’ll take Gomez in all formats, thanks!
