Selena Gomez was one of the night’s best dressed at the 2022 SAG Awards, shutting down the red carpet – her first of the year – in a beautiful black velvet Oscar de la Renta gown that oozed Hollywood glamour.
The actress was attending the awards ceremony for the first time, nominated alongside her Only Murders in the Building co-stars for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series. But she looked every bit at home as she posed for photographers with her hair pulled back into a sleek, sophisticated bun with a black bow.
Gomez accessorised with a stunning diamond choker necklace and matching earrings and matched her green manicure to the shade of the green stone in her huge Bulgari ring. On her feet, a pair of chic black Christian Louboutin heels could be seen poking out from the bottom of her dress. To not distract from her gown and jewels, Gomez kept her beauty look clean and minimal with a classic nude lip.

Though Gomez looked perfectly elegant and every bit a movie star, just a few moments later she proved she’s still the same relatable and down to earth character her fans love when she tripped and fell in her Louboutin heels on the red carpet, breaking one of them in the process.
Furthermore, Iinstead of having a diva moment and sending her team into a frenzy to quickly replace her footwear, Gomez opted to ditched her heels completely, going barefoot for the evening and even walking on stage sans shoes to present an award with her co-star Martin Short.

Viewers quickly took to Twitter to praise Gomez for her reliability with one person saying her running on stage barefoot was their “favourite part of the night” and others dubbing her an “icon.”
What’s more, once the 29-year-old left the stage, an attendee captured Nicole Kidman taking her heels off in solidarity, writing, “Nicole Kidman shows solidarity to Selena Gomez and goes barefoot as well after Selena’s heels broke earlier tonight! 😭Queens!🙌🏼🥰.” Name a more iconic barefoot duo.
