Valentine’s Day is one of the most contentious holidays of the year. People love it, they hate it, they write think-pieces about the commercialization of love, they rebrand it to be all about the Gals. Or, if you’re Paris Hilton, they use it as an opportunity for a themed outfit occasion.
The hotel heiress, businesswoman, DJ and recent mother celebrated February 14th one day early, stepping out for a Monday night dinner with her husband Carter Reum in L.A.
The couple, who welcomed their first child, a boy, last month, were spotted entering celebrity-favorite restaurant Craig’s in West Hollywood with Hilton making the most of the notorious paparazzi hangout spot (they’re literally always camped outside Craig’s, so if a celebrity is papped there, it’s on purpose) by wearing a red dress covered in love-hearts.
Hilton paired her statement piece, which featured a scalloped skirt and sleeves and was covered entirely covered in pink hearts, with a pair of glossy beige platform heels, each embellished with a set of red lips at the front. She added a red heart-shaped clutch — inspired by Valentine’s heart candies — with the word “single” on one side and “taken” on the other.
Hilton, of course, matched her sunglasses to the pink and red color theme, which she (obviously) popped on for pics, despite it being pitch black outside. My personal favorite being the one where she pauses before walking inside for a gorgeous over-the-shoulder photo:
Whether she was making sure the “Taken” side of her bag was showing on purpose or not, Hilton very much is Taken. She and Reum, who were lifelong friends, began dating in November 2019 and got engaged in February 2021. They married that November with a three-day wedding extravaganza in Santa Monica, California, before welcoming their first child, via surrogate, earlier this year.
“You are already loved beyond words 💙,” Hilton wrote to announce the news, alongside a photo of her son’s tiny hand.
Of course, Hilton isn’t the first celebrity to do Valentine’s Day dressing. Rihanna famously wore a fluffy red heart-shaped Saint Laurent coat on the streets of New York in 2016 paired with a cap and denim shorts, before rewearing the jacket for Valentine’s Day last year, loved up with A$AP Rocky.
Rebranding Valentine’s Day to be simply created for a chic outfit moment? We love to see it.
