Megan Fox‘s mermaid-length black hair has been her signature look her entire public career, from her breakthrough role in Transformers to her now-cult Jennifer’s Body-era to her and Machine Gun Kelly‘s recent pop culture resurgence and gothic romance.

But over the weekend, the 36-year-old debuted not only a shorter cut and bangs — already a major change as any woman who’s constantly debating chopping their hair off would know — but blonde locks to boot.

On Instagram, Fox, who’s only gone to to the lighter side temporarily before, with the most recent example her platinum pink style for the premiere of Kelly’s Hulu documentary, Life in Pink, shared two selfies showing off her new do.

The look consists of shoulder-length honey-blonde hair with an ombré effect from her dark at the roots to a lighter honey-blonde and a wispy fringe that covers her forehead and rests just above her eyes.

Fox paired her new style with smoky eyeshadow and a glossy pink lip, while wearing low-key outfits consisting of a green tank with a black sweater in the first pic and a dark gray button-down in the second.

Despite pulling off the look, the backdrop in both images appears to be a set trailer, hinting at the change likely being a temporary one for the project Fox appears to be filming: a new sci-fi movie, titled Subservience, which she stars in alongside 365 Days‘ Michele Morrone.

Even if Fox hasn’t become a blonde bombshell for good, the bob she’s sporting has been popular among celebrities this year. Hailey Bieber recently cut her hair into a short, blunt brunette bob and so too did Jenna Ortega, who opted to keep hers layered instead of sharp.
