GRAZIA USA Spring cover girl Lucy Boynton has a way of standing out with her avant-garde red carpet beauty looks. Since her role in the 2018 Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, the actress has consistently embraced artfully applied makeup evoking the Swinging Sixties with cat eyeliner with the sharpest of wings, cut crease shadow accentuating the hood of the eyelid and lashes for days. Now, Boynton is shaking things up on the Chevalier red carpet.

The actress stepped out at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles to celebrate the premiere of her new film with an eye-catching studded winged eye, expertly applied by makeup artist Jo Baker. With her copper strands simply styled in glossy waves with a middle-part, Boynton let her makeup do the talking.

Baker used Chanel Beauty products for the glam moment, plus her own eye embellishments to round out the look. “Gold studded liner on the eyes ~ are a sneak sample from a new drop I have coming out this summer,” the pro teased on social media. “New playbox gem kit making fun makeup easy) watch this space… ⚡️😎.”

Baker also shared a behind-the-scenes sneak peek of the look on Instagram. “24kt studded punk wings,” she captioned the post. Showing a studded leather biker jacket as her inspiration, Boynton sported a row of bronze studs underneath her eye, rising up to meet the row of studs at the crease of her lid. Baker completed the look with a soft pink lip on Boynton, courtesy of Chanel.

Boynton juxtaposed her edgy beauty moment with an ethereal pastel Erdem mint green gown from the Fall/Winter 2023 ready-to-wear collection, styled by Leith Clark. The star accessorized with metallic silver platform pumps and dainty Grainne Morton Double Detachable Victorian drop earrings.

Starring Kelvin Harrison Jr., Samara Weaving and Minnie Driver, Boynton plays Marie Antoinette in Chevalier. The drama tells the story of Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, the son of a slave and a French plantation owner, who ascends in French society because of his musical talent as a conductor, composer and violin virtuoso. Boynton exclusively told GRAZIA USA that learning more about his life, which was largely erased from the history books, was “such an education.” Adding, “I’m just really proud to be a part of shining a light on that story.”
