Kendall Jenner’s style has undertaken a radical transformation during lockdown. Where the elder Jenner sister was once known for embracing body-clinging mini dresses and ab-baring crop tops, she now favors a heady mix of minimal, masculine pieces. We first saw this new look when Jenner wore a head-to-toe black ensemble by culty luxury minimalist The Row, and again with the slew of outfits she wore in New York City last month. Now, as she and sister, Kylie Jenner, ring in the New Year with a ski trip in Colorado, we’re seeing Jenner’s new look in action once again.

While Kylie sits comfortably on the ‘maximalist’ end of the spectrum—wearing a mix of Prada Nylon separates alongside her existing wardrobe of vintage Dior puffers and leopard print bodysuits by Richard Quinn—Kendall’s ski bunny attire has been a masterclass in restraint. On New Year’s Eve, she wore head-to-toe black once again, pairing an oversized belted leather blazer with leggings, on-trend below-the-knee boots, and a vintage Baguette handbag by Fendi.

For an afternoon on the slopes, Kendall wore black baggy ski trousers and a contrasting cropped yellow puffer coat (we’re no experts, but her snowboarding skills are genuinely impressive). Then, yesterday evening, she rocked another monochrome look: Chunky lug-soled boots, an oversized men’s style coat, black leather gloves, a skin-hugging turtleneck, and rectangular sunglasses. She finished off the outfit with a patent leather shoulder bag.

Kendall seems to have hit her sartorial stride this last six months—becoming one of the very few human beings whose style actually improved during the quarantine. What can we say? Things are a little different when you’re a Kardashian, not the least of them being that The Row’s $12,000 cashmere outfits are within your financial grasp. Next time we hit the slopes, we’ll be pinning Kenny’s Colorado trip in the center of our mood boards.
