Kendall Jenner is the odd one out in her family for a number of reasons, two of which were evident yesterday during the Kardashian-Jenner’s Easter celebrations. Not only is the model the only sibling to not yet have children of her own, something she pointed out on Instagram by captioning her photos from the day “auntie kenny,” but she dresses markedly differently from her sisters, too.
While Kim, Khloé, Kourtney and Kylie all have their own sense of style, they overlap when it comes to amping up the sex appeal. Kourtney puts a punk rock twist on hers to match her husband Travis Barker’s aesthetics, Kim (at least until recently) is all about the tight latex Balenciaga and Khloé and Kylie like short hemlines, statement silhouettes and anything that will show off their hourglass figures.
Meanwhile, Kendall tends to be drawn to designers, such as The Row and Khaite, who are famous for creating minimal, chic and timeless pieces, a style that has recently been dubbed “quiet luxury” or “stealth wealth” (and which could not be more perfectly demonstrated than on Gwyneth Paltrow during her ski trial).
Jenner’s off-duty wardrobe is mostly made up of muted tones — oversized jumpers, jeans and midi skirts, but when it comes to occasion dressing, the model pulls from the archives, most recently looking to vintage Jean Paul Gaultier for the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty and Stella McCartney-era Chloé for Easter Sunday.
Posting on a teak lounge chair next to a bouquet of sunflowers, Jenner showed off the baby blue slip dress from Stella McCartney’s debut collection for Chloé in 1998 that she chose to wear for the day. The silk midi dress featured a halter neckline trimmed in white lace, which continued along its scooped back, and two tiny straps that tied the piece together around the neck.
Jenner was barefoot for the photos, wearing nothing other than a pair of diamond studs and black oval-shaped sunglasses with her brunette hair loose and textured.
Kendall’s younger sister, Kylie, also opted for a vintage piece for the family day, wearing a sage green vintage Jean Paul Gaultier maxi dress that featured a scoop neckline, tank top-style straps and a sheer pleated skirt. She accessorized with a pair of yellow slip-on sandals and held a basket full of sunflowers and eggs to pose for photos.
