In honor of Kate Middleton‘s 41st birthday on Jan. 9, we’re revisiting some of her most iconic looks of all time.

Known for her exquisitely curated royal wardrobe, the Princess of Wales has often paid homage to her late mother-in-law’s inimitable legacy through sartorial expression. The Issa London blue silk-jersey Sapphire London wrap dress that she wore to officially announce her engagement to Prince William mirrored that of the blue suit set adorned by Princess Diana for the very same occasion. Similarly, the Princess opted for a Jenny Packham polka-dot frock to present Prince George to the public after giving birth, which echoed the green polka-dot ensemble worn by Diana to present Prince William as a newborn.

The Princess also has a tendency to call upon her favorite designers time and time again, and repeatedly wears Jenny Packham and Alexander McQueen. Opting for streamlined and timeless looks, the royal family member’s signature style is certainly fit for a queen.

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September, Middleton received a higher title, going from the Duchess of Cambridge to the Princess of Wales (which Princess Diana previously held), and fittingly marked the occasion by wearing a special brooch and tiara.

In celebration for the Princess’ 41st birthday, here are Kate Middleton’s top style moments, bound to go down in royal family history.
