Earlier this week, rumors started swirling that there was something going on between Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell. And we can’t blame fans for thinking so. The two walked the red carpet together at CinemaCon in Las Vegas to promote their upcoming romantic comedy Anyone But You and their chemistry was palpable. They beamed at one another and joked and laughed down the carpet, which made many think something was deeper than just perfect on-screen chemistry. Not to mention, some photos and videos were shared on social media of the two getting close. Now, it’s been reported that Powell has split from his girlfriend, model Gigi Paris.
On Wednesday, People confirmed that the pair, who started dating in 2019, broke up weeks ago. A source told the publication, “Gigi and Glen had broken up several times. They had been on the rocks since Top Gun came out. Gigi was never happy with the long distance filming and when she came to Australia they both decided to break up for good.”
According to Page Six, Paris visited the set of Anyone But You in Sydney, Australia to spend time with Powell in late March and returned to the US less than two weeks later.
When the movie was announced in January, Paris showed support for the new project, commenting on Sweeney’s casting with festive emojis, “
.” But news broke this week that Paris unfollowed Sweeney on Instagram. People’s source said Gigi unfollowed Sydney because Sydney never followed her back. “This had nothing to do with Glen and Sydney. Gigi is aware that Glen and Sydney never hooked up.”
The day news of the split came out, Paris posted a video of herself walking down the street with the caption, “know your worth & onto the next.”
While it looks like Paris is ready to move on, all eyes will likely be on Powell and Sweeney as promotion for the movie ramps up. Sweeney has been engaged to Jonathan Davino for a year, but famously keep their relationships under-wraps and out of the spotlight.
