Gisele Bündchen is ushering in a new era after her highly publicized split from NFL quarterback Tom Brady. Last week, she showed fans a video of herself practicing her dance moves in anticipation for Rio de Janeiro Carnival. And over the weekend, she gave followers a glimpse into all the fun she had during the annual celebration.
On Sunday, the supermodel was in her native Brazil and danced the night away in Rio de Janeiro. Bündchen shared footage of herself on Instagram Stories pre-gaming with friends at a house party, then celebrated in the streets during the city’s famous carnival.
For the occasion, Bündchen wore low-rise white jeans with an ultra-cropped “Brahma” graphic tee, matching her group of friends, and showing off her rock-hard abs. In photos taken at the event, Bündchen was seen with a huge smile on her face, as she threw her hands up in the air as the carnival floats made their way down the street.
Last week, when the model posted the video of herself dancing on Instagram, she showed off her impressive moves alongside her friend and choreographer Justin Neto. “Getting in the mood for carnival! 💃🏼✨🎉,” Bündchen wrote.
It appears Bündchen is doing “just fine” following the split from her husband of 13 years. A source told PEOPLE that’s in part because she is accustomed to doing things on her own.
In other reports from the outlet, a source said Bündchen is “starting over in a good frame of mind” and that she feels “confident, strong and better than she has in a long, long time.”
She’s also been spending a lot of time in paradise. Bündchen was photographed in Costa Rica with her jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, and in pics obtained by Page Six, the pair went on a horseback ride together.
Last fall, Bündchen expressed her desire to focus on her own goals moving forward after years of prioritizing Brady, his career, and her family, telling ELLE, “I have a huge list of things that I have to do, that I want to do. At 42, I feel more connected with my purpose.”
