Gigi Hadid looks just as fabulous with only foundation and a touch of mascara as she does with a full face of glam. But the look we love most of all is when the California native gives us a look at her natural, makeup-free complexion. Her most recent snap, for example, basically doubles as frame-worthy artwork.
On Sunday, December 27, the new mom decided to take part in the latest viral social media activity, unofficially named the “Post a Photo Of…” challenge (Kylie Jenner jumped on-board the trend, too). It works because a celebrity uses Instagram’s “ask a question” feature, and their fans request to see specific images from their camera roll. Hadid posted the bare-faced selfie in response to a user who requested a photo “without makeup.”
Hadid’s selfie certainly didn’t disappoint. While some celebs might have kept a little makeup on for the photo, she appears to have actually ditched it altogether. The never-before-seen, up-close pic of her makeup-free skin is gorgeous and real. She posed for the photo so that sunlight engulfs half of her face, and a shadow darkens the other. In the makeup-free selfie, her lashes are uncurled, her brows are untamed, and her natural skin has itty-bitty sunspots, just like all of us non-models.
The snap reminded us of another one of Hadid’s makeup-free moments, posted in July 2018. “My baby [Zayn Malik] says he likes my sun spots,” she wrote on a video clip showing her followers her real, unfiltered skin. She added, “Mamma, I wear sunblock. I promise.”
Hadid is generally quiet about her skincare must-haves, but this past summer, she gave her followers a peek at her fully-stocked beauty cabinet.
