After a break-up, a brand new hairstyle represents an exciting chapter in one’s life. For some, that means grabbing a box of platinum blonde dye, for others, it’s picking up the scissors and going to town — and in some cases, maybe even both. After reportedly calling it quits with her husband of four years, Sebastian Bear-McClard, (there were rumors he cheated), model Emily Ratajkowski just debuted a new hairstyle and took fans along for the ride.
The 32-year-old model and My Body author took to her TikTok account armed with a pair of scissors in hand, and showed her 1.5 million followers how she snips her own hair.
I know you cant tell a difference at the end 🤦♀️
“We’re going to the beach, and I want to give myself an extra layer,” says Ratajkowski, clad in a red bikini, before beginning the process. After one snip, she says, “This is insane, am I being crazy? I’ve cut my hair before, and this is not my best work, but it’s a start.”
In the video, Ratajkowski’s 1-year-old son Sylvester (whom she shares with Bear-McClard) made an oh-so-adorable cameo before she went back to the chopping block to even out a few shorter strands framing her face.
The model is taking baby steps with her hair changes post-breakup. First, she went longer and showed off a new mermaid-length hairstyle by adding in a few extensions two weeks ago. These new DIY layers are also a safe way to shake up her hairstyle without committing to something drastic.
Although we don’t necessarily recommend the model’s DIY approach, Ratajkowski looked ready for her summer day at the beach. Ever since news broke that she is planning on filing for divorce from Bear-McClard, Ratajkowski has spent time enjoying the great outdoors. Last week she shared a series of snaps on Instagram during a weekend away in the countryside with her son.
Ratajkowski hasn’t publicly spoken out about her spit, but she has been active on Twitter, liking other fan’s comments, such as one who wrote, “Emrata finally free from that man just proves that god is actually very real.” She liked another that read, “Can’t believe that little bitch cheated on emrata.”
