Out of the darkness and into the light, unapologetically loud colors seem to be the sartorial route to take this upcoming year. Dubbed “Dopamine Dressing” by Pinterest, the social media platform calculated its most popular search terms to determine which trends will be adopted in the coming year.
Having been socially restricted since COVID-19 reached the US. shores, people are itching for a way to express themselves. While black used to be considered the be all, end all of taste, now somewhere over the rainbow, fashion mavens are taking their ensembles to new heights and experimenting with new risks just to feel something. With the rise of designers like Christopher John Rogers, Alessandro Michele, and Kerby Jean-Raymond, color is king. Be it monochromatic highlighter hues or saturated color-blocking, bold and spirited ensembles will be all the rage in 2022.
