Hot off the heels of Versace’s “Fendace” collaboration with fellow Italian fashion house Fendi, comes a new limited-edition capsule collection in partnership with multi-hyphenate superstar, Cher. Showing support for the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month, a portion of the proceeds will go towards the national organization, Gender Spectrum.
The collab was announced in a new video narrated by Jake Bongiovi on Instagram. “Two icons, both alike in diva-energy. In Pride Month, where we celebrate the scene, from long-held friendship to new love and unity, where Cher and Versace make, CHERSACE.”
Icons, allies, and champions of the LGBTQ+ community, Cher and Donatella Versace’s “Chersace” collection is a curated assortment of black T-shirts, socks, and a baseball cap, all emblazoned with rainbow and bedazzled logos of the Italian fashion house’s signature Medusa Head motif and “Chersace” inscribed above.
Cher posted photos rocking the merch on Instagram writing, “Maybe it’s me, but I think this Versace t-shirt is kinda giving Cher 🤷🏻♀️🖤🙇🏻♀️”
Proceeds of the new collection will benefit Gender Spectrum, which works to create safe, gender sensitive spaces for children and teens, and provides resources, online programs, and useful information that children, parents, and families can all implement to expand their understanding of gender while learning the value of familial support.
Just last week, Versace and its parent company Capri Holdings announced the unveiling of The Versace Foundation, pledging $10 million to pursue its mission of “fostering, promoting and supporting programs, projects and activities designed to generate awareness of and support for the LGBTQIA+ community.”
