Amid Gianni Versace’s reign over his eponymous fashion house, Versace, the designer tapped all of his favorite supermodels for his bombastic and ultra-glam campaigns of the 1990s. Shot by the likes of photography giants, Richard Avedon and Steven Meisel, the provocative and artfully executed shots withstand the test of time. Especially when glamazons, like Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Helena Richardson, and more graced the pages of the campaigns.

With Donatella Versace’s latest campaign for the house, she appears to have gotten some inspiration from her brother. Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid pose nude in a Garden of Eden-esque universe, complete with a slithering serpent, forbidden fruit (an apple), and two very strategically-placed black and white Versace handbags. It’s very reminiscent of a 1995 Versace ad starring Claudia Schiffer and Sylvester Stallone, who also posed nude with plates covering their nether regions — and Schiffer noticed.

The legendary model shared a carousel on Instagram of the Hadids’ campaign alongside her 1995 Richard Avedon photo shoot with the incredibly toned Stallone. Schiffer commented, “Now and then @Versace campaigns — some things are timeless. Love this so much!”

Donatella chimed in in the comments section writing, “Claudia, you will always be an inspiration!!! I’m so glad you love it!!! ♥️♥️♥️😘😘😘” Mert Alas also praised the model commenting, “forever inspiration,” with a string of heart emojis.
