Our thirst for red carpet style has been quenched. Today, March 14, the 2021 Grammy Awards descended onto downtown Los Angeles for a socially-distant awards ceremony. But unlike the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards, all the glitz and glamour was live and in real life, sans the screaming fans. It was a refreshing pause from lagging Zoom calls and designer gowns that we can only see from the torso up.
The Grammys are notoriously more relaxed than its film award counterparts, and this year no expense was spared on red carpet style. Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion were the first to arrive to the scaled-back affair wearing Roberto Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana respectively and Billie Eilish was of course in Gucci.
Harry Styles was notably absent from the red carpet, however he opened the ceremony with a live rendition of “Watermelon Sugar.” Much to his fans’ excitement (read: mine), it peaked when he appeared with Gucci leather jacket – undone and bare-chested – with matching pants and a mint green boa. He then took to the red carpet in a plaid yellow blazer and pink scarf. The looks are the brain child of stylist to the stars, Harry Lambert. Lambert was also behind Emma Corrin‘s Schiaparelli Critics Choice Awards ensemble. Elsewhere, Dua Lipa was a spitting image of Cher in Versace.
