Ever since Dua Lipa flooded the sound waves with her catchy pop hooks in the 2015 hit “Be The One”, the artist has transformed into a bonafide fashion icon. G-strings and evening wear? She made that happen. Jeans and Prada joggers? That too. And no one can forget her nod to Princess Diana.

In between preparing for the Grammy Awards and filming an advertisement, Lipa outdid her usual stylish self with an Instagram gallery dedicated to one whole week of outfits. And by outfits, we mean fierce departures from her lockdown dress code: street sweats and slouchy hoods.

The singer’s first look of the week took form through a red leather jacket and black mini skirt, finished with a strappy pair of stilettos. Lipa’s next ensemble featured a lemon yellow, cut-out tank and wide-legged pants, the pieces the brain children of New Zealand designer, Paris Georgia.

“It is made by women for women,” Lipa said in an interview. “It is laid-back and comfortable, but cute, and I still feel like I’m making an effort. I feel really confident in it.”

Lipa’s other looks comprised of a peter pan-collared mini dress and combat boots while she ended the gallery with flared indigo jeans and a sweet knitted cardigan.

But just when we thought the artist was finished, she served one final (and arguably the best) look of the week in a separate post. Lipa appeared in a knitted, checked top and sweater draped over her shoulders, cut-out bike shorts and a plush top-handle bag in neon-green.

The ‘Levitating’ singer was named in Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2021 in February. She is nominated for six Grammy Awards across her single “Don’t Start Now” and album Future Nostalgia. The ceremony will air on March 15. You can certainly expect the same calibre of style when it comes to the red carpet next week.

Stay tuned.
